I have many role models. Some of them are famous people who don't know I exist ( Tina Fey, Ellen DeGeneres, Jane Lynch, Amy Poehler, JK Rowling) and while they are important, they still rank lower than the following.
My Mum, the most beautiful, brave, strong, amazing person I have (and ever will have) in my life. She ranks highest because she is my mum, yes, but because she raised me while suffering from a rare neurological condition called Chiari Malformation. My mum is the most important person in my life and I love her so much.
The rest of the people are my friends, they mean everything to me and I don't know what I would do without them. I like spending time with my friends, they make me laugh so much and are always around for me to talk to. They are the best people ever and need to never forget how amazing they are.
Then the people who are involved in Saturday Stage Schools. These people make me laugh every week, and might not know this but they saved me. When I started I was always worried (because my mum was diagnosed the year before with CM), I was shy and nervous most of the time and couldn't deal with embarrassment or looking silly. They helped me let go, and just not care what others think as long as I am having fun and being me, they taught me the meaning behind this quote;
There is Power in looking silly and knowing that you do. ~Amy Poehler
There is a point to this post. Don't concentrate on what famous people are doing and what will make you look good, if there are more people who are better people to look up to who you are close to, (or even just those who you have met more than once) then look up to them. Don't just look for famous people who are 'acceptable', look up to those who make you feel good as you.
